Tony's Airside Diner, Lakeland Airport

On our visit to Sun-n-Fun we thought we’d give Tony’s Airside Restaurant a try.  It was surprisingly slow for a Sun-n-Fun Saturday and we were quickly seated.

Tony’s is on the second floor of the airport terminal and seats an easy 100 patrons, with several seats along side the window overlooking the tower and runways.

We arrived about 10:30 and we given a breakfast menu.  I selected the Eggs Benedict that come with brunch potatoes and a fruit salad for $ 6.25. My wife chose the Breakfast Quesadilla (scrambled eggs, bacon, chilies, cheese, and roasted red peppers in a grilled tortilla) that come with salsa, sour cream on the side, and served with their brunch potatoes for $ 5.50.

The Eggs Benedict were good (eggs were a bit overcooked for my liking), but the hollandaise was excellent. The Brunch Potatoes weren’t bad either, likewise the fruit salad made a nice addition to the meal.

The Breakfast Quesadillas were described as "plain tasting" and the salsa lacked pizzazz (similar to a “mild” Pace picante sauce).

The day we were there it seemed there was a issue with who services which table. We did have to wait quite a while for coffee refills and for a second salsa.

Over-all the restaurant was clean and the service fair.  The next time we visit Lakeland's airport (KLAL) we’ll try Tony’s again for a lunch or dinner.

Tony’s offers a wide variety of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner items and is open everyday at 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mon. – Thu, 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 p.m. on Friday.  Tony’s accepts most all major credit cards.
