Starting as a family owned business seventeen years ago, Huston Motors has expanded into a modern automotive, and Nautiques powerboat dealership with a professional sales staff and an award-winning service department. From the soaring architecture of the exterior to the spacious and comfortable showroom, Huston Motors, has done an outstanding job in offering their customers a progressive and relaxed atmosphere to shop for automobiles. “We built this structure in 1989 and completely remodeled it in 2005,” owner David Huston says proudly.

When asked about continuing with the business that his father started, David said it was the natural thing to do. “After graduating from Lake Wales High School, I started selling cars on the corner lot across the street. Then, when this location became available, we moved over here.” His brother Tim is the partner of Huston Motors and together they also have owner-interest in Fields-Huston Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, & GMC in Lake Wales.

In 2003 Huston Motors began offering a complete line of Suzuki automobiles. Models for 2006 include the Forenza (also available as a wagon), Verona, Aerio SX, Aerio Sedan, and the economical Reno. Completing the Suzuki line are two SUV vehicles, the XL-7 and the Grand Vitara. The Grand Vitara is brand-new on the market and has a long list of standard equipment that includes an automatic climate control with micronfilter, remote entry system, cruise control, 6 position driver’s seat, and a CD player. For family safety, it offers full air-bag protection, door impact bars, daytime running lights, and antilock braking. It also offers a sophisticated four-wheel drive option with a neutral setting for easy towing, and a zero deductible 100,000-mile warranty.

In addition to Suzuki vehicles, Huston Motors has a fleet of Nautiques powerboats and a quality selection of pre-owned automobiles available at their establishment. Their competent service department puts each vehicle through a rigorous inspection process before any of them are offered for sale to the public. This unique process assures that all of the cars and trucks displayed on their lot are the best available.

Financing is an important aid for prospective buyers looking to purchase a new or pre-owned model. Huston Motors says for the customer to simply fi ll out and submit the application form, and one of their representatives will contact them either by phone or e-mail. This process will enable a customer to obtain the best fi nancing plan so that they may own and drive the car of their dreams.

David Huston says he and his brother are dedicated to the automotive business, and even though they have had small disagreements in the past, the results have always been a positive experience for them. David enjoys being located in central Florida. “This area is unique,” he says. “We seem to have the best that the state has to offer and that includes the people that live here as well.” Looking toward the future he comments, “There will be plenty of growing and changes in this area, but in the long run everything will be better than before.”

When asked about the increasing number of other car dealerships in the Lake Wales-Winter Haven area, David replies, “We need competition to survive and I believe that having several different brands and models to choose from is in the consumers best interest. And that is our primary goal here at Huston Motors…to serve all of our customers properly and to give them what they want.”
