Junca Dental and Associates is the new kid on the block at Shops on the Ridge, just north of Eagle Ridge Shopping mall in Lake Wales. This highly successful dental group has its headquarters in Orlando, and with the opening of their Lake Wales office, expects to add another satellite location near the Orlando International Airport as well.

David E. Junca, D.D.S., M.B.A., F.A.G.D, is a graduate of the University of Panama and in 1994, finished his post graduate education at the University of Florida. He has been named the most distinguished Hispanic figure in the United States by “Quien es Quien” a Spanish version of “Who’s Who.” In the same year he also acquired a fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. To earn this award a dentist must complete more than 500 hours of continuous education courses within ten years and pass a rigorous fellowship exam. In March 1998. Dr. Junca finished a full year of surgical training in Implant Placement at the University of Miami. Using the latest technology at his disposal, he placed and restored his own dental implants. In the past, patients were limited to only a partial bridge to replace missing teeth.

His many memberships include: Board of Director, Small Business Chamber of Commerce, Member of American Dental Associate, Central Florida Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry Florida Dental Association, Greater Orlando Dental Society, Federation Dentaire International, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Volunteers with the Homeless Coalition.

Dr. Junca recently gave a lecture in Central and South America in the area of Practice Management. He is also attending seminars in the Las Vegas Institute one of the best cosmetic institutions in the contiguous 48 states.

In his state-of-the-art office, using digital x-ray equipment with a convenient LCD monitor, results can be viewed instantly. A wireless, miniature camera also shows and quickly illustrates to the patient what needs to be done as well. Laser removal of decay is another plus, and promises minimal discomfort by requiring less anesthesia treatment while preparing for a filling or crown.
