Story by Loren Spangler, Photos submitted by Bryan Vincent
Bryan Vincent is the owner/entrepreneur and creative genius behind All Star Grill restaurants. He designs the interiors, creates the menus, invents the sauces, sketches the logos, and does the ordering. With three All Star Grill restaurants and ten-years of serving his loyal customers, it is obvious that he is doing everything right. “I always hustled and worked hard,” Bryan says. “I started at the Olive Garden and Chili’s restaurants, and when I was 21 years old I opened the ‘Sixth Street Tavern’ in downtown Winter Haven.” Afterward, he turned the Winter Haven Howard Johnson’s into the first All Star Grill. “I learned very early that it does not matter how much flash or money you put in a business, a restaurant cannot succeed without good managers, and mine are the best. Some of my managers have been with me for 8-years.” Bryan also mentioned that an employee named Cory Derico joined him 14 years ago doing odd jobs, and now is the lead cook at the All Star Grill in Haines City. The vast menu is complete and has something for everyone. “Starters” gives you Chicken or Veggie Quesadillas, Flaming Fajitas, Buffalo Shrimp, Onion Rings, and more. “Salads” include Taco, Steak, Shrimp, Grouper, or Chicken Salad. “Entrees” feature a cut-onpremises, 16-oz New York Strip Steak, Grouper Fingers, Smothered Grouper or Chicken, and Fish & Chips. Under “Burgers” you will find a Boston Burger, Mushroom & Swiss, and the All Star Burger, to name a few. There are also many scrumptious “Sandwiches” and “Combinations” to choose from. “For The Kids” it’s Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Grilled Ham & Cheese, and Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup & a Cherry. In addition to the All Star Grill locations in Haines City, Winter Haven, and Lake Wales, Bryan Vincent also owns the popular Salt Water Grill and Today & Tonight Magazine. “I felt the best way to get my point across was to get inside other businesses in a nice, respectable way, and the magazine was the way to do it.” If you notice that All Star Grill restaurants project a nautical flare, you are correct. Although Bryan designed the interior of his restaurants, a talented craftsman named Ralph Noble did the construction. “He loved the Florida Keys and it showed in his work,” Bryan says. Bike night is held every Wednesday at the All Star Grill in Haines City and on Thursday night at the Salt Water Grill on Cypress Gardens Blvd. in Winter Haven. “I love the bikers,” owner Vincent says. “They have treated me well, and are the best theme crowd I have.” When asked what the future holds for him, Bryan replied that he is working on several ideas, places, and concepts at the present time. The Kids 12 & Under Eating Free on Tuesdays, and using a small girl instead of a woman in his wing advertisements (her name is Bryleigh), are a sample of his active mind and creativity. All Star Grill is family owned and operated. “Family restaurants is where I am right now,” Bryan says. Their locations are: 94 Maxcy Plaza Circle in Haines City, FL, (863) 422-3455...906 Spring Lake Plaza in Winter Haven, FL, (863) 299-7030... and 2019 State Road East in Lake Wales, FL, (863) 679-9689. Their hours of operation are 11:30 to midnight, Monday-Saturday, and are closed on Sunday.
